Cotton poplin is a plain weave cotton fabric with a tight structure, a clean surface and weave and smooth, soft feel. The surface of the fabric has a distinct, even, diamond-shaped grain formed by the raised part of the warp yarn.

Cotton poplin scarves have a feel and appearance similar to silk, with a clean and flat surface, a fine texture, a lustrous glow and a soft, smooth silky feel, while cotton poplin scarves also have a good drape and the print can usually be as delicate and visually rich as silk.
